Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG is an international electronic group specialized in the fields of electronic test equipment, broadcasting and media, internet security, radiocommunication and radiolocation, and radiocommunications. The company offers products for wireless communication, broadcasting and media, cybersecurity and the electronics industry, aviation and defense, homeland security and critical infrastructure.
Since 1933, the Group has been in the development, production and marketing of electronic products for the capital goods sector. In addition to its headquarters in Munich, it has its headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, and in Asia (Singapore). In Germany, there are nearly 6,000 company employees, including about 2,000 employees at the headquarters of Munich.
In the world, the company owns a total of about 10,000 employees in more than 70 countries. It is family property and self-financing. Export makes up about 90 percent of revenue. The company invests around 16 percent of annual net income in research and development.
The central R & D is located at the company headquarters in Munich, Germany. Most products are produced at the Rohde & Schwarz factories in Memmingen (Bavaria, Germany), Teisnach (in Bavaria, Germany) and Vimperk (Czech Republic). In 2005, Rohde & Schwarz acquired Hameg Instruments GmbH, a German manufacturer of testing and measuring equipment (T & M).
Outside of Germany, Rohde & Schwarz has development centers in the United States, Singapore, Korea, China, Denmark, France and the United Kingdom. The company also has production facilities in Singapore and Malaysia, which have been launched since early 2011 and July 2011.
